My Story
I never imagined I would one day serve on the Red Bluff City Council. Like many people, I simply wanted to be involved in my community, express my concerns, and help where I could. Over time, opportunities to serve opened in ways I hadn't expected, and each step reinforced my belief that leadership begins with listening, learning, and a genuine desire to make a difference.
Serving our community has been both humbling and rewarding. It has deepened my appreciation for the people who call Red Bluff home and strengthened my commitment to thoughtful, responsible leadership.
Answering the Call to Serve
When the opportunity arose to serve on the Red Bluff City Council, I didn't answer immediately. I spent time in prayer, talked with my family, and carefully considered the responsibility that comes with representing our community. Public service is not something I take lightly, and I wanted to be certain I was willing to give it the time, energy, and thoughtful attention it deserves.
After much prayer and reflection, I accepted the appointment with a deep sense of gratitude and humility. I didn't see it as a position to hold, but as an opportunity to serve my neighbors and contribute in a meaningful way.
Those early decisions helped shape the kind of public servant I wanted to be—one guided by integrity, thoughtful stewardship, and a commitment to putting the community first.
Stewardship
Early in my service, I made the decision to decline the City's health insurance benefits because my family was already covered. Since we didn't need the additional coverage, I didn't believe it was appropriate to create that added expense for taxpayers.
I also felt personally led to treat my City Council stipend differently than ordinary income. Rather than incorporating it into our family's regular budget, I chose to set it aside. That decision has served as a continual reminder that public service is a privilege and a responsibility entrusted to me by the people of Red Bluff.
Looking Forward
Every meeting, every conversation, and every decision is an opportunity to learn, to listen, and to serve. I know there will always be challenges facing our community, but I remain committed to approaching each one with humility, integrity, and a willingness to work alongside others for the good of Red Bluff.
Red Bluff has given so much to my family over the years. Serving this community is my opportunity to give something back, and I would be grateful for the privilege of continuing that work.
